RAWALPINDI: Three people, including two labourers, were killed and one was injured in separate incidents in Rawalpindi on Sunday.
According to emergency services 1122, the first incident occurred on Dhoke Kala Khan Road, Chaklala, where two labourers fainted and fell into water while cleaning a well that was 60 feet deep and six feet wide.
Soon after the incident was reported, emergency staff with ambulances and rescue vehicles arrived at the scene and began rescue operation. Both individuals were rescued and taken to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The deceased were identified as Kamran, 25, and Mamraiz, 38. The bodies were handed over to their heirs.
Meanwhile, a motorcycle rider was killed and a pillion rider injured when their vehicle was struck by a passenger bus near New Katarian (I.J. Principal Road) on Sunday.
According to rescue services, Mohammad Umar, 24, died instantly from a head injury, while Sattar Ahmed, 36, a resident of Abbottabad, was injured.
The deceased and injured were transferred to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).
