KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed provincial departments, law enforcement agencies and city administration to make necessary arrangements, including infrastructure development and city beautification, for the Pakistan Maritime Expo and Conference (PIMEC) 2025 scheduled to be held at Karachi Expo Centre from November 3.

He issued such directives while chairing the second meeting of the steering committee held at the CM on Wednesday.

While emphasising the strategic importance of the event, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah called it “more than an exhibition”, in fact “a vital platform to unlock Pakistan’s maritime potential and advance its long-term Blue Economy vision”.

“The Blue Economy is not just an economic strategy, it’s a national imperative. PIMEC 2025 is our opportunity to harness this potential through innovation, policy coordination and international cooperation,” the CM added.

He stated the upcoming edition aims to be even more impactful, attracting participants from local and international industries, academia, and government. He termed the event “a cornerstone for advancing Pakistan’s maritime diplomacy, investment landscape, and technological self-reliance.”

The meeting was also attended by provincial ministers Sharjeel Inam Memon, Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho, Saeed Ghani, Zulfiqar Shah, Jam Ikram Dharejo, Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, Commander Karachi Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, representatives of the Pakistan Army, law enforcement agencies and co-organisers Badar Expo Solutions to review the preparations for the mega maritime event.
