CASABLANCA: All 190 passengers and crew aboard a chartered Boeing-707 were killed today [Aug 3] when the aircraft crashed in mountains as it was preparing to land at the coastal port of Agadir. The plane, chartered by Air Maroc from Jordanian Trans World Airlines, was carrying 178 Moroccan migrant workers home from France for their summer holidays. Four European passengers were reported to have been on board the plane as well as Jordanian crew. Eye-witnesses at the crash scene said that the aircraft … disintegrated on hitting a mountain in heavy fog. All the crew were Jordanians unfamiliar with the Paris-Agadir route, reports said.

[Meanwhile, as reported by news agencies from Mirpur, Azad Kashmir,] all the thirty-one dead bodies so far recovered from the Mangla Lake after yesterday’s tragedy were buried today [Aug 3] by their relatives amidst sorrowful scenes. … …[P]olice sources said that thirty dead bodies were recovered till last night, while only one dead body of a one year old infant was recovered today. … All the shops and commercial institutions remained closed in Mirpur and condolence meetings were held at different places.
