QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Wednesday ordered immediate investigation into appointment of retired officer Murad Muhammad Mari as Tehsildar of Kuchlak and additional charge of Tehsildar Settlement Office in Quetta.

The action came as the news of the appointment went viral on social media, sparking public scepticism about its legality.

The chief minister has instructed the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team (CMIT) to investigate the issue.

The inquiry team has been directed to submit a report within a week.

Later, the Board of Revenue revoked the notification issued on July 29, regarding Mari’s appointment.
