LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court on Monday summoned two main prosecution witnesses again for cross-examination in a May 9 case pertaining to the Shadman police station attack.

ATC-I Judge Manzer Ali Gill conducted the hearing at Kot Lakhpat jail.

During the hearing, police inspectors Shaukat and Muhammad Alam recorded their statements and they will be cross-examined on Tuesday (today).

The cross-examination of eight prosecution witnesses had been completed in the police station attack case.

In a separate case related to the burning of police vehicles near Jinnah House, the cross-examination of eight prosecution witnesses was also conducted. The defence lawyers also cross-examined prosecution witnesses, including officials of FIA, Islamabad and Pemra via video link in both cases.

The hearings of the May 9 cases are being held daily to meet a deadline of four months set by the Supreme Court for the conclusion of the trials.
