PESHAWAR: Different events to mark the 37th death anniversary of Fakhar Afghan Bacha Khan, also known as Abdul Ghaffar Khan, and the 19th death anniversary of Khan Abdul Wali Khan will begin today (Monday).

According to a statement issued here on Sunday, Awami National Party central president Aimal Wali Khan will formally kick off the celebrations at Bacha Khan Markaz here.

ANP secretary general Dr Mohammad Saleem Khan, provincial president Mian Iftikhar Hussain, provincial general secretary Hussain Shah Yousafzai and other central and provincial leaders will attend the ceremony.

It was stated that stalls of books, traditional clothes and various other types would also be set up on the occasion. New books will also be launched at the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Mian Iftikhar, in a separate statement, paid rich tribute to the late leaders and appreciated the services they rendered for welfare of people.
