MUZAFFARGARH: The 9th Thal Desert Jeep Rally will be held from Nov 7 to 10 on 200km long track falling in the jurisdiction of Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu and Layyah districts.

A notification of the rally was announced by the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP). Colourful events are also part of the show which is expected to attract more than 100 drivers.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADCR) Dr Abida Fareed said that she was conducting meetings with the tourism department officials.

Muzaffargarh will be the starting and ending point. She said vehicle registration, tagging and technical inspection would be done on Nov 7.

Qualification competitions will be held on Nov 8 and stock category competitions on Nov 9. On Nov 10, competitions for modified vehicles and women’s category will be held.

A bike race will also be held the same day.

DPO Syed Hasnain Haider said 1,000 policemen will perform security duties.
