DERA GHAZI KHAN: A policeman died while two of his colleagues were critically injured after armed bandits opened fire on a police picket in Pattan Lunda in Sonmiani, Rojhan Mazari.

Heavy gunfire was still being exchanged at the time of filing this report at 10pm in the riverine area. The Rajanpur district police officer was leading the police team in the katcha area Sources said Elite constable Haji Muhammad laid down his life in the line of duty while two others, constables Siddiq and Rafiq, were critically injured in the attack. They were shifted to the Shaikh Zayed Hospital.

IGP Dr Usman Anwar sought a report of the attack and police response from the DG Khan RPO.

FLOOD RESCUE: Flood rescue operation started in riverine area Beit Soee Shadan Lound under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Ahmed Kamal.

In the rescue operations, 50 people, who were trapped in the water, were shifted to safe places. Rescuers also shifted 618 animals to safe place.

Meanwhile, flood rescue operation is underway in Rajanpur, DG Khan, Mianwali, Layyah and Muzaffargarh.
