LAHORE: Six pedestrians were injured by wagons of a freight train at the Indian Railway crossing in Garhi Shahu on Wednesday.

The incident occurred when the train reversed unexpectedly after crossing the level crossing, hitting the pedestrians who had begun crossing the tracks.

PR Lahore Divisional Superintendent (DS) and rescue teams reached the spot to manage the situation. The railway medical staff provided immediate care to the injured.

Rescue 1122 emergency vehicles were also present at the accident site.

According to Rescue 1122, three of the people suffered serious injuries while the other were given first aid. The seriously injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.
