ISLAMABAD: While environmental-friendly steps are being taken globally, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started issuing password-protected e-salary slips to protect the environment.

The step has been taken on the directives of CDA Member Technology and Digitisation Nauman Khalid under which over 15,000 employees will get the e-salary slips.

As per a CDA spokesperson, while the administration of the civic agency is engaged round the clock in the construction and development of the city and providing best facilities to the citizens, it has taken special measures for the working employees and officers so all possible provisions could be provided to them while protecting the environment.

“By minimising the consumption and cost of paper, the excess amount saved from the salary slips will be used for the development of the city,” he said.

“In this regard, in the light of the direction of the CDA chairman, the member technology and digitisation issued e-salary slips for the employees,” said the spokesperson.

He added, “With the launch of the e-salary slip, the officers and employees of the organisation will be able to download their monthly salary slips with one click and won’t have to visit the offices to get pay slips.”

Similarly, with the release of e-slips, employees can download their salary slips for any month and save the data with the help of an ID and password.

As per a statement, the workers of the institution have welcomed the initiative of member technology and digitisation.

Besides, they expressed their determination that the construction and development of the city will be achieved through such initiatives, leading to doubled savings and development in the city.

It is worth mentioning here that a number of companies, divisions and organisations have been moving towards a paperless environment in which staff convert documents into digital formats to consume less paper.

Other paperless practices such as digital communication, electronic signatures and digital record-keeping systems help the offices sustain the reduction of paper usage.

The benefits of the step include saving money, i.e., storage costs, printing costs, operational costs, etc.

Furthermore, it increases productivity, saves storage space, simplifies information sharing, protects private information, helps protect the environment, and increases access.
