KARACHI: Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi has launched the Pakistan Maritime Science and Technology Park (PMSTP), a pilot project of Bahria University (BU), on its Karachi campus.

The park is aimed at contributing towards the growth of maritime sectors, particularly coastal tourism, aquaculture and seafood processing, shipbuilding, shipping, renewable ocean energy, including indigenous production of magnesium chloride-based solar cells, and seawater desalination, besides helping improve the living standards of coastal communities.

Speaking on the occasion, the naval chief expressed his satisfaction over BU’s efforts towards the promotion of maritime education, applied maritime research, innovation, and commercialisation.
