DERA ISMAIL KHAN: The police seized over 6,000 litres of Iranian diesel here on Monday foiling its smuggling bid.

According to a spokesman for the police, two trucks coming in from the Darazinda area were stopped in the limits of the Daraban police station and 3,025 litres of Iranian diesel was recovered from each of them.

He said a police team led by Kulachi Circle SDPO Abdul Rasheed Khan took truck drivers Neematullah and Haider Khan, both residents of Zhob, into custody.

A smuggling case was later registered against them.

TWO KILLED: Two people were killed after being buried under a large pile of crushed stone from a truck on the Bannu Road here on Monday.

A spokesman for Rescue 1122 said the incident occurred near Giloti village after the truck overturned.

He said rescue workers removed both bodies from the crushed stone and shifted them to a hospital.

The spokesman said the deceased included Obaid Dawar and Ghulab Khan Dawar, residents of North Waziristan tribal district.

Meanwhile, the bomb disposal unit disposed of 35kg explosive material on the court’s orders.

The police said the explosives, including two IEDs, 18 hand grenades and three RPG mortar shells, were seized by the Paharpur and Shaheed Nawab police.
