SWABI: Two brothers drowned in a nullah in Maneri Bala area here on Monday, Rescue 1122 officials said.

The victims along with friends were bathing in Maneri Badrinullah to beat the heat when they drowned.

Luqman Khan, a rescue official, told this correspondent that the men drowned in a place dug deep through excavators for getting sand and stone.

He said friends tried to save the boys, but failed. He said a rescue team retrieved the bodies.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Waheed, 26, and Abdul Wadood, 28.

The victims hailed from Bajaur district and were living in Maneri Bala village.
