LONDON: Scotland Yard [was] busy yesterday [Dec 16] with more telephoned “warnings” of imminent destruction of public buildings in London. The caller has been busy for four days with his alarm calls and up to now 14 buildings, including the British Broadcasting Corporation Headquarters and Scotland Yard itself, have been threatened.

The latest warning came at midday when the police were telephoned that the offices of the “Daily Mirror” newspaper would be blown up. Earlier, the caller announced that the tube station in South London was to be wrecked and … that the Royal Artillery Records Office in Kent would be destroyed. Workers at all the three places regarded the warnings with equanimity but the police were kept on alert. Police believe the man to be a practical joker with no political motives but they taking secret measures in the hope of catching him.

Scotland Yard is still being pestered by a series of calls from a man with a gruff voice threatening to blow up Government buildings and describing himself as a Jewish terrorist. …A squad of cars is placed at strategic points so that one of them can reach the specific phone within two minutes.
