LAHORE: Punjab government has announced a new examination policy for the secondary and higher-secondary classes because of Covid-19 issues and made it mandatory for the candidates to pass all elective subjects and their score percentage would be reflected in compulsory subjects for Part-I and II.

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar issued the new directions to the Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) for the conduct of annual examinations and declaration of results of all the examinations, held in 2021 in the back drop of Covid-19.

The notification states, the HSSC 2021 exam candidates shall appear in Part-II elective subjects only. They shall have to pass all of the elective subjects. The average marks obtained in pass elective subjects (Part-II) shall be reflected in compulsory subjects of Part-II. The same marks shall be awarded for Part-I corresponding subjects.

The candidates, re-appearing for HSSC Part-I examination 2021, need not to appear for the exam as they shall be awarded average marks obtained previously in all Part-I pass subjects.

It states, the candidates appearing for marks improvement in Part-I examinations 2021 shall appear in elective subjects for HSSC Part-I. Their average marks of pass subjects (Part-I) shall be reflected in the remaining compulsory subjects of Part-I.

The candidates appearing for marks improvement or re-appearing in compulsory subjects only need not to appear in the examinations. They shall be awarded a percentage of average marks obtained previously in pass subjects of relevant Part-I or Part-II, respectively.

It further states, the candidates appearing for additional subjects in HSSC (Annual) examinations 2021 shall appear in the relevant subject. The marks obtained in additional subjects or subjects of Part-II shall be awarded for corresponding subjects or subjects of Part-I.

The candidates of nursing /homeopathic, etc. and classical languages group (Aloom-e-Sharqia) and candidates seeking equivalence from IBCC shall be examined in all the relevant subjects of HSSC. The results shall be declared on the basis of factual marks obtained in the subjects.

The fresh candidates appearing for HSSC Part-I shall appear in Part-I elective subjects only. They shall have to pass all elective subjects. The average marks obtained in pass subjects (Part-I) shall be reflected in the remaining compulsory ones of the Part-I.

As per the directions about Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, the Part-II candidatesshall appear in elective subjects and mathematics only. They shall have to pass all subjects. The average marks obtained in pass subjects (Part-II) shall be reflected in the remaining compulsory ones. The same marks shall be awarded for Part-I corresponding subjects.

The candidates re-appearing for SSC Part-I need not to appear for examinations. They shall be awarded average marks obtained previously in all Part-I pass subjects.

The candidates for marks improvement in Part-I shall appear in elective subjects and mathematics for SSC Part-I. They shall have to pass all elective subjects and the mathematics.

The average marks obtained in pass subjects (Part-I) shall be reflected in remaining compulsory subjects of Part-I.
