GILGIT: Three people killed and three others sustained injured when a jeep plunged into a deep ravine near Roundu area of Skardu on Thursday.

Police said that the victims were relatives. They said they were going in a passenger jeep from Gilgit to Skardu that plunged into deep ravine near Chamacho area in Roundu.

Three passengers including a girl and woman were killed while three others received injuries in the accident. The names of deceased and injured couldn’t be ascertained.

The local people retrieved bodies and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. The condition of injured is said to be out of danger.

Travel on under-construction Gilgit-Skardu Road has become dangerous. Local people said that accidents occurred frequently on the road.
