LAHORE: The Lahore Race Club (LRC), has announced postponement of Eclipse Stake of Pakistan race to another date to be announced later, a notification issued by the club said here on Saturday.

The notification further said that some breeders have put forth a suggestion that a term race for three-year-old colts and fillies named Charman Cup/Breeders Cup to be contested over 1,400 metres be held six weeks later.

The club has accepted the suggestion and requested all breeders to indicate the amount they are willing to contribute towards its cash prize. The LRC would on its part will add a matching amount which is contributed by the breeders towards the prize-money.

Horse-owners and the racing fraternity has wholeheartedly welcomed breeders initiative aimed at promoting the equine sports.
