19 passengers killed in Dera Ghazi Khan accident

At least 19 people reportedly lost their lives and more than 40 others were injured when two passenger coaches collided with each other near Pull Ghazi Ghat area of Dera Ghazi Khan on Sunday.

According to the rescue and police officials, 15 people died on the spot while the injured were shifted to the nearby hospitals where four people succumbed to their injuries.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Dr Arif Alvi have expressed grief and sorrow over the tragic incident in Dera Ghazi Khan, Radio Pakistan reported.

In a statement, they expressed sympathy and condoled with the bereaved families. They also directed the local authorities to provide best medical assistance to the injured passengers.

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar also condoled over the loss of precious lives in the tragic incident.

Why do PM / President types always have to ask for best health care to be provided? What else do they do? Not provide them with the best available health care? Who monitors anyway whether the best health care has been provided or not?

Always country's ruler send condolences and annouce some money but no body talkes about concrete measures to stop such top of tregedies. Vehicle inspection particularly commercial vehicles should be done strictly, not on paper by taking bribes.

Unfortunately,this road has been in shambles since eons leading to accidents.With such a huge population and congested roads as ours ,not constructing one way roads is a crime. I hope new government pays heed to the plight of this region

reckess driving by tired drivers and the structure of pay, contribute to these accidents. the bus company owners should be fined and jailed, along with the drivers, if they are still alive. the police should regularly issue speeding tickets on the roads to all speeding buses and commercial vehicles. onboard cameras and gps speed trackers should be required on all commercial vehicles.

When all the jobless people, peolple who have no knowledge of traffic laws and vehicles without brakes and tyres hit the road this would’ve the result. I wonder if any government will make laws and take strict measures to stop this nonsense.

It is very strange that the PM and President did not ask for investigation of the accident where 19 passengers lost their lives. How we can prevent such tragedies if don't find the cause of the accident. Do they care about human life?

Mr khan and mr alvi gee.providing medical assistance not enough similar like paper over the cracks,road accidents,fire arm accidents are perpetual menace here in pakistan this is open secret,pls look for sustainable solution,create dvla and mot centre forwith and control these centre rigidly.
