LAHORE: A team of the Punjab Food Authority sealed a known restaurant in Faisal Town and imposed a heavy fine on two bread makers in Township industrial area over food laws violations.

Led by Food Minister Samiullah Chaudhry and PFA DG, the team sealed Yasir Broast over `worst’ sanitary conditions, abundance of insects in kitchen and use of poor quality oil.

The team raided Sunny Bread and Dawn Bread and fined them Rs200,000 each. Sunny Bread failed to maintain the temperature of cold store area, its deep freezers were in poor condition and there was no record of filters and water.

Dawn Bread had improper cleanliness arrangements and no medical certificates of its workers. The two factories were given three days to comply with PFA regulations, says a press release.
