THE quality of education provided by private schools to the middle class is not up to the mark. The conceptual study is decreasing with each passing day.
The teachers are not focusing on the concept behind the topic. Therefore, students resort to cramming to prepare for their exam.
They secure good marks at the secondary level, but what about their future? When these students enter university or appear in competitive exams like CSS and PCS, they face a great difficulty because they were deprived of conceptual study.
If one has a habit of cramming, one cannot pass a conceptual exam. When a student remembers something with the concept, it will remain in memory for life. On the other hand, in rote learning one tends to forget what one has learned after a few years. In my opinion, rote learning should be prohibited in schools.
The primary reason for rote learning is incompetent teachers who are not qualified to teach. Mostly, in middle schools one comes across teachers who have only done their intermediate. The private schools should ensure while hiring teachers that they should be at least bachelors in the relevant subject.
