GHALANAI: The local chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf staged a protest demonstration here the other day against delay in implementation of Fata reforms and demanded of the government to abolish Frontier Crimes Regulation.

Carrying placards and banners, the protesting workers of PTI chanted slogans against JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and PkMAP chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai.

PTI Mohmand Agency president Sajid Khan alleged that JUI-F and PkMAP were obstacles to Fata reforms. He demanded of the government to merge Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“The protest will continue till complete abolishment of FCR and merger of Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” said Mr Khan. He alleged that federal government and Fata Secretariat were not sincere in implementing Fata reforms.

The PTI leader said that tribesmen should given representation in the provisional assembly before 2018 general elections. The PTI leader said that nobody could stop the process of change in the tribal areas. “Now time has come to introduce reforms in the tribal areas,” he added.

SUICIDE: A 17-year-old boy committed suicide in Khwajawas Kore village of Haleemzai tehsil in Mohmand tribal region the other day, said officials.

The residents of the area said that 17-year-old young man was identified as Janyaz Khan. They said that door of the Janyaz Khan’s room was locked and he was not responding to the knocking. When the door of his room was broken, the people saw that Janyaz Khan put a hook around his neck, they added. They said that he was shifted to agency headquarters hospital in Ghalanai where doctors pronounced him dead.
