GHALANAI: The local chapter of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf staged a protest demonstration here the other day against delay in implementation of Fata reforms and demanded of the government to abolish Frontier Crimes Regulation.

Carrying placards and banners, the protesting workers of PTI chanted slogans against JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and PkMAP chairman Mahmood Khan Achakzai.

PTI Mohmand Agency president Sajid Khan alleged that JUI-F and PkMAP were obstacles to Fata reforms. He demanded of the government to merge Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“The protest will continue till complete abolishment of FCR and merger of Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” said Mr Khan. He alleged that federal government and Fata Secretariat were not sincere in implementing Fata reforms.

The PTI leader said that tribesmen should given representation in the provisional assembly before 2018 general elections. The PTI leader said that nobody could stop the process of change in the tribal areas. “Now time has come to introduce reforms in the tribal areas,” he added.

SUICIDE: A 17-year-old boy committed suicide in Khwajawas Kore village of Haleemzai tehsil in Mohmand tribal region the other day, said officials.
