Pakistan Customs plan to honour Champions Trophy winners

KARACHI: Pakistan Customs will honour the national cricket team which won the ICC Champions Trophy last month in England, it was announced here on Sunday.

Dr Mohammad Nadeem Memon, the Additional Collector MCC Preventive and Deputy Collector MCC Preventive Waqar Hussain visited the residence of Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed residence and present a bouquet on behalf of Dr Saifuddin Junejo, the Collector MCC Preventive.

They passed the message of Collector Customs of holding a reception in honor of the victorious Pakistan team in the second week of August at the Customs House in Karachi.

While accepting the invitation, Sarfraz said requested the visiting Customs officials to get approval from the Pakistan Cricket Board for the official reception.

During the meeting Sarfraz suggested the Customs officials to rebuild the Customs cricket team professionally.

Also present during the meeting was former Pakistan paceman Jalaluddin, who has the distinction of claiming the first hat-trick in the history of One-day Internationals when he dismissed Australia’s Rodney Marsh, Bruce Yardley and Geoff Lawson at Hyderabad in 1982.
