Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shahryar Khan announced on Saturday that Pakistan and Afghanistan will play two T20 matches with each other.
Speaking at a press conference alongside the chairman of Afghan Cricket Board Atif Mashal, Khan said the short friendly series could be played in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Sharjah.
He said the date of the series could not yet be decided as the two cricketing sides were preoccupied in their own commitments at the moment.
Shahryar said that regional teams from the two countries would also play possible series, which would include A-teams and under-16 teams.
He added that Pakistan would help Afghanistan in International Cricket Council (ICC) issues and in making the country a permanent member of the international cricket governing body.
The PCB chairman said eight or nine Pakistani players would be facilitated in their endeavours to participate in an Afghan cricket league.

Wow, our cricket is progressing really fast! We are playing the modern day giants like Afghanistan and West Indies. Please also arrange matches with cricketing giants like Uganda, Columbia and Lithuania. We don't need to play South Africa, England, New Zealand and Australia anymore because we are too good for them. Plus Afghanis have been so thankful to us over the years. We helped Bangladesh become good at cricket and look how they give PCB a lot of respect these days. We should help Afghanistan become good too and then they will also give us a lot of respect but I think they already our giving us a lot of respect looking at the situation on our western border! Najam Sethi and Shehryar Khan have worked tirelessly to arrange this wonderful series and deserve all the appreciation. This didn't deserve a press conference but a launch ceremony!

Dont make the same mistake as you did with Bangladesh, help them and they backstab you, Afghans are an ungrateful lot, so let them learn their cricket elsewhere.

It is just a political ploy by Afghanistan. Afghanis will pull out on the eleventh hour reasoning security and terrorism in Pakistan. Afghans are going to copy Indian tactics to create bad image of Pakistan.
Let's sort out the border and Afghan refugees isuues first before playing any sports.

Guess the team Afghanistan will also not come to play the friendly series in Pakistan. So much for Sethi and Sheryar claim for returning cricket to Pakistan. I guess they should focus on PSL only or perhaps giving comments about playing cricket with India.
