KARACHI, Dec 30: Sajid Shah claimed a hat trick as Habib Bank trounced Karachi Port Trust by an innings and 15 runs on the second day of the Patron’s Trophy Pool ‘B’ match at Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old Mardan-born medium-pacer, who was on a hat trick at the start of KPT’s second innings having dismissed Farhan Iqbal and Fahad Khan in the first, bowled a sensational sixth over in which he captured four wickets.

Shadab Kabir, the ex-Test left-hander, was caught in the slips off the first delivery for 40. Rashid Hanif scored a couple before he was caught behind off the fourth ball. Sajid trapped Farhan with the next ball before completing his hat trick when he sent Mohammad Hasnain’s middle-stump cartwheeling. The stump, in fact, was broken into two.

Facing a deficit of 181, KPT were eventually all out for 166 some 40 minutes after tea. Ex-Test paceman Shahid Nazir bagged 5-57 while Sajid took 4-41.

Earlier, the bankers extended their overnight score of 187 for six to 281 with Khaqan Arsal adding 32 to his overnight 104. Pacer Fahad Khan claimed all four wickets to fall on Tuesday to finish with five for 55.
