KARACHI: Pakistani players will hopefully do well in T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, which will be held in Delhi from Jan 28.

This was stated by Chairman DMC South Malik Fayyaz on Wednesday who added that the nation is pinning hopes with “our visually challenged cricketers for a good performance in the big event across the border.”

Apart from host India and Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Nepal, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies will feature in the Blind World Cup.

“God has bestowed great talents upon our visually challenged brothers and the way our blind cricketers have represented the country at international is commendable,” said Fayyaz. “If they had been made available proper infrastructure as their other international counterparts do, I believe our blind cricketers would have done wonders for the nation,” he added.

Fayyaz further requested that government departments and private sector to come forward to help the cause and promote blind cricket in the country. He added that DMC South will always extended a helping hand to support and promote blind cricket in the city.

Meanwhile, Abdul Wahab on the occasion said that blind cricketers are active in the city for the last twenty years and currently there are more than seventy registered players in the city.
