LAHORE: A steady stream of people of all ages visited the Johar Town’s Expo Centre to enjoy The Dawn Media Group’s annual “All About Lifestyles” exhibition that concluded here on Sunday.
It remained open to people from 10am to 10pm, and there was a great rush of them throughout the weekly holiday, enjoying a lot of amusement, gifts, entertainment and food at the sprawling Expo Centre.
Each of the nearly 80 stalls drew rush allowing people to take advantage of unusual discounts and deals on products from services to consumer items like shoes, foams, upholstery and cars. Stalls offering lucky draws and prizes for different games again drew more rush.
“The designs at a popular shoe store stall are new and with reduced prices. I have bought two pairs of shoes,” gloated Rehana, a newly-wed visitor.
The stall from the Gilgit-Baltistan Tourism Department appeared to be the centre of attraction for visitors, many showered currency notes on a child who danced on the music played by accompanying elders from Gilgit. “The music is lovely as are the products being sold by these people,” remarked Asad, who bought a white Gilgiti cap from there.
The Young World Pavilion offering a play area and a tent for free face and other painting was a spot parent found it hard to move their children away from.
The in-charge of The Potter’s Wheel had adequate clay but was repeatedly checking the stock so as not to disappoint children. He made the intending children make a queue, still requesting parents to handle the impatient children who wanted an early chance.
The Food Court continued to offer a variety of traditional Lahore food like Kashmiri tea at affordable prices. “Its quality food, and the prices are good,” said Muhammad Ashraf who was buying chicken tikka for his family.
And the arena for the all breed dog show was a special place with dog-lovers showing internationally renowned breeds of their pets. There were Chowchows, English Bull Terriers, Saint Bernards, Great Pyrenees, Bulldogs, Rottweilers, German and English Pointers, Siberian Huskies, Great Danes, and the lovely little Shih Tzu.
