HYDERABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activist Mohammad Akbar, who was found killed in Nooriabad a few days ago, was buried in Tando Yusuf graveyard on Friday when his family identified him.

Akbar, according to his family, was picked up by unidentified persons on Dec 6. His mother had filed an application in a sessions court against Market police station SHO Munir Abbasi and other police officers.

The Nooriabad police found his body near Jokhio turning point on Thursday. He was wearing a pair of jeans and a shirt. The body was kept in the Edhi morgue off the Superhighway where his family identified him.

According to Hyderabad MQM zonal incharge Naveed Shamsi, Akbar was inactive in the party for quite sometime. He remained associated with the party four to five years ago.
