SARGODHA: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) pilotless aircraft crashed early on Friday in the fields of Jahanabad village in Shahpur tehsil.

However, no casualties were reported.

Sources said that the drone was on a routine flight when it encountered a technical fault and crashed.

The PAF officials and police reached the scene of the crash, 30km from here, and cordoned off the area to initiate a probe.

Meanwhile, Bhagtanwala police conducted an operation in Luqman village where Afghan refugees live. Around 11 suspects were arrested and arms and ammunition seized from their possession. Some of them were identified as Shahid, Arshad, Mohammad Ejaz, Ashraf, Nasrullah, Mohammad Bakhsh and Khizar Hayat.

Police said it was a routine operation under the National Action Plan.
