As a Pakistani, I am deeply saddened by this devastation. Pakistan should offer help to build houses for free as a humanitarian gesture and ask Indian government to provide free land for the affected. Also, our government and all the governments who have people living in shanty's, should learn a lesson and take remedial steps in order to avoid this horrific scenario in future. I wonder how rich people living near slums enjoy their life when they see people struggling to survive neraby...I wish the affected folks would get better living standard elsewhere provided by the government and would consider this accident somehow as a blessing in disguise...Also there should be a lesson for war mongers that both countries have millions of peoples living in below standard conditions and our countries certainly and most certainly cannot afford war of any sort even of words...Both countries should constitute panels of experts in different fields to find ways to help themselves and their neighboring countries in order to end or at least alleviate peoples suffering...

@Ahmed Dear Ahmed; It seems that you have a big heart. May God bless you for that. But unfortunately most of the dwellers of this slum are illegal immigrants from Bangladesh. That is the reason why no political parties call out to them or help them, they are not Indian "vote bank". Never the less they are human beings in deep need of our help.

How much have you travelled in India? True there are many thatched houses in India but not all of them are poor as you say. Due to mass urbanisation many people leave their home town and live in slum in metro like bangalore, chennai etc. For better earnings

@Sanchari Dear Sanchari, we are all one...I feel pain if anything happens to any human being anywhere in the world...of course it is special when it hits home such as in Bangladesh, India, Srilanka or in my country Pakistan...I see war of words and specially between Pakistanis and Indians when I visit Dawn or Times of India...it gets further complicated when they assume each others guise and get into non stop ridiculous duel...what a waste of time and energy...and there I see a light like yourself with positive energy...We need more people like you in this world to create harmony and to spread positive vibe between the hostile nations run by incompetent and nincompoop politicians...God bless you too...
