LAHORE, July 20: Religious parties strongly condemned on Saturday the attack on the shrine of Hazrat Zainab (RA) in Syria saying those involved in the attack could never be the Muslims.

PAT: In a statement, Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr Tahirul Qadri termed the attack a cowardly and shameful act. “Since it is the worst and shameful act, the Syrian government should expose those involved in the attack within 24 hours,” he demanded.

He said the PAT would start protests if the Syrian government didn’t take action in this regard.

SIC: The Sunni Ittehad Council also condemned the attack, calling upon the Pakistan government to take up the issue with the Syrian government. “Since the incident has hurt millions of Muslims, we want exemplary punishment to the terrorists involved in the attack,” a spokesman for the SIC said in a statement.

JUI-F: JUI-F leaders in a statement strongly condemned the attack on the shrine of Hazrat Zainab (RA) and urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to press the Syrian government for immediate arrest of culprits.

Maulana Muhammad Amjad Khan also condemned the incident of desecration of the Holy Quran in Srinagar (Kashmir).
