LAHORE, May 21: A Lahore High Court division bench on Monday referred to the chief justice the bail petition of PPP’s former MPA Mian Aslam Midhyana in the teacher torture case.

The petition was fixed for hearing before a division bench, headed by Justice Rauf Ahmad Sheikh. But Justice Sheikh refused to hear the petition owing to some personal reasons.

He referred the petition to CJ and requested him to fix the same before any other appropriate bench.

The judge also directed the registrar office to fix bail petition along with a pending petition of Midhyana seeking deletion of Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act from the FIR registered against him for torturing an elderly schoolteacher.
