Wedding meals

Published January 31, 2009

THIS is apropos of the letter, `` (Jan 26), by Faiza Sultana. People belonging to either the middle or lower middle class spend too much money on wedding meals.

Almost half of the wedding food goes to waste and lands in the waste-bin when the party is over. The food wasted can fill hundreds of empty stomachs of the poor if saved and utilised.

One dish in wedding ceremonies can reduce such waste of the money and food.
