So after 90 days it's all right to and break the law ?

I witnessed an incident today in which the police used this law to harass a citizen for having a "fancy" number plate. The number plate in question was a simple yellow plastic one with the registration number printed in simple font. This issue was only raised because the policeman was disappointed at finding that this person had all their paperwork, and was fishing for grounds to harass them into giving him money. It is worth noting here that the absence of an official Sindh Govt number plate in this case was due to the Excise Department's failure to issue one, despite the car being over four months old and the matter being followed up every week. Pessimistic as it may sound, chances are that they will harass citizens over trivial matters and neglect more serious issues like danger-causing traffic violations, or security guards - often policemen - intimidating other drivers into breaking red lights to let their own cars through.

So you can keep the weapons but couldn't display them publicly. IMO only high profile people does that so it is a ban on political as well as CONNECTED people.

So, following are considered illegal for 90 days: "open display of arms, private vehicles having resemblance with vehicles of police and other law enforcement agencies, private vehicles with tinted glasses, private vehicles with mounted police lights or sirens" Will it become legal after 90 days?????

Open display of Arms is never allowed in any country except Pakistan which should be stopped now.All these Wader as and Jagirdars should be restricted now .If they want to hire security they can do so from security co. who have trained security guards and carry arms under cover.

How stupid is this. This should be the law. What's the 90 day period. @karachi resident. If you could write a letter the size of your comment to IG Sind, DIG traffic, cplc etc you might have a chance of some ramification...take the right steps to solve a problem regardless of the outcome....your outcry here doesn't solve anything...

This should be permanent. It is ridiculous and stupid to implement and enforce this for ninety days. Everything mentioned is already illegal as per Pakistan Law, but never enforced in Pakistan. Situation is the worst in Karachi.

If the authorities are serious about cracking down on crime and militancy in Karachi they really need to take drastic measures to the extent that possession of a fire arm with a licence carries a min 2 month custodial sentence. The city also needs to be under Curfew between certain hours i.e. 10pm-6am and compulsory to carry correct documentation to route out foreign and cross border agents.

What is with this 90 day ban. Public display of weapons should be out rightly banned. It is so intimidating.

Rangers are in Karachi since 1989, no improvement is recorded yet. They are just making money and this new endorsement is only to harass Karachiites.

section 144 should be imposed in Karachi for 365 days and renewed each year - my humble advice, please sack the criminal elements in the police dept from top to bottom and check their looted wealth
