SKARDU, Dec 7: Seven persons were killed while six others sustained injuries when a passenger jeep fell into a ditch near Mehdiabad village, some 40 kilometres off here on Wednesday morning, police sources told Dawn. The vehicle was on its way to Skardu from Katisho village when it plunged down in a deep ditch. As a result six persons including three women died on the spot.

The injured were shifted to DHQ Hospital, Skardu, where one of them succumbed to his injuries, while three injured persons were under treatment and their condition was stated to be out of danger.
