Four killed in Swabi

SWABI July 29: Four people were killed and 11 injured in five different incidents here on Monday.

One Maulana Hanifullah of Kalu Khan was ran over by a speedy pick-up, which was racing against two other marriage party vehicles.

The Maulana was killed on the spot while three other persons of the marriage party were injured.

In Marghuz Bazar, a flying coach ran over a group of people. As a result, Sanaullah died an instantaneous death while his five companions were seriously injured. They were rushed to the district headquarters hospital.

In Manki, one Wajid Ali was purchasing eatables from a shop when one Farooq fired at him with a kalashnikov. Wajid Ali died on the spot while Salma, the shopkeeper’s daughter, was seriously injured. This enraged the shopkeeper who injured Farooq’s mother. The incident was said to be the result of an old family rivalry.

In the fourth incident, one Sirzamin of Seenkhel was seriously injured when one Rehim opened fire at him. The injured was admitted to the district hospital.
