HYDERABAD, May 30 Eminent writers, educationists and politicians have paid rich tributes to prolific writer and intellectual, Mohammad Ibrahim Joyo for his services in education, promotion of Sindhi language and literature.

At a sitting with the living legend organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism Sindh here on Friday night to acknowledge his services in his life, Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said “It's our duty to acknowledge and eulogize services of our great men like Mohammad Ibrahim Joyo while they are among us.”

Sindh Minister for Culture Ms Sassui Palijo said that Mohammad Ibrahim Joyo was a living legend.

She said that under his recommendations, the department had undertaken a project to preserve poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai in ragas. A gallery at the under-construction Sindh Museum had been named after the great scholar, his books would be translated into English and his three of his books “Sorrows of Sindh, “On Sindh”, and “Orian Ke Ahwal” would be published, she said.
