LAHORE, May 19 The body of Major Abid Majeed, who lost his life while taking part in the Swat operation, was brought to his home in Qasim Bagh, New Cavalry Ground, here on Tuesday evening. The funeral will take place on Wednesday [today] morning at 10am near Shaheedanwala graveyard.
Belonging to Punjab Regiment, Maj Abid was posted at Chowki Nazarabad in Matta.
He came from a family of soldiers. His father and grandfather had both served in the army while his brother, Maj Khalid, also participated in the ongoing operation in Swat and received a bullet injury in his right arm. He left behind a widow, a minor son and a daughter.—Correspondent
