SWABI: Constable shot dead in Swabi

SWABI, Feb 8: A police constable was shot dead by unknown assailants here on Sunday.

Police said constable Mohammad Usman and his other colleague of Zaida police station were on a routine patrol early on Sunday morning when unidentified armed persons opened fire on them when they reached near Kaddi area.

As a result Mr Usman hailing from Anbar was killed on the spot but the other police official escaped unhurt. The police rushed to the site of the incident and cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. However, the assailants managed to escape. —Correspondent
