TOBA TEK SINGH: The dead body of a trader, who was kidnapped two days ago from Khanewal district, was recovered from a canal on Saturday on indication of the alleged murderer.
Police claimed deceased Ghulam Shabbir of Shorkot and accused Muhammad Akhtar of Khanewal were friends, who also did business with each other. Akhtar allegedly owed his friend Rs30 million. Accused Akhtar took his friend Ghulam Shabbir in his car on the pretext of work and on the way, Akhtar allegedly shot dead Shabbir.
Police claimed that after killing him, he threw his body into the Mailsi Link Canal near Kacha Khu. However, when the accused was taking the deceased’s car, he got into an accident on the way. Akhtar then left the car at the accident site and fled, police further claimed.
When the police reached the accident site, they saw that there was blood in the car and arrested Akhtar. During interrogation, he confessed to killing his friend. A kidnapping case of Shabbir was registered at the Haveli Koranga Police station two days ago.
The Rescue divers recovered the body of the deceased from the Mailsi Link Canal as indicated by the accused and the police shifted the body to the Kabirwala THQ hospital for postmortem.
BOOKED: The Nankana Sahib Bara Ghar police booked a young man for allegedly raping his wife after taking sex stimulation pills in the Kot Tahir locality on Saturday.
The complainant claimed in her FIR that her son-in-law after taking sex pills, overpowered his daughter and raped her and performed unnatural act despite her refusal. As a result, she became unconscious.
Police were conducting raids to arrest the accused.
ROOF COLLAPSE: A labourer died and three others were critically injured after the under construction roof of an outhouse belonging to former MPA Khalid Watto caved in on Friday night.
Rescuers removed heavy debris and recovered all four labourers and shifted them to the Tandlianwala THQ hospital. However, one of the injured identified as Younis Maseeh succumbed to his wounds.
MURDER: A man allegedly killed his nephew while claiming the death to be the result of electrocution, however, the murder came to light while the body was being bathed for burial.
As per reports, Iqbal Shah (22), a resident of Chak 130 Shamali Sillanwali in Sargodha, and his accused maternal uncle Inayat Shah worked in a factory in the 7th Mile Area of the Airport Police station. They allegedly had a quarrel and Inayat Shah opened fire and killed his nephew Iqbal Shah.
He changed the deceased’s clothes and took the body to their native village Sillanwali, where his family was told by the accused that Iqbal had died due to electrocution. While bathing the body for burial, a bullet mark was seen near the victim’s armpit.
The Airport Police booked Inayat Shah and his four unidentified accomplices and were investigating.
