SAHIWAL: Two suspects were arrested after a honey-trap gang extorted Rs2.5 million from a commission agent on the outskirts of Chak 66/GD.
Police Station Bahadur Shah registered a case after a one-year delay, and two suspects have been arrested.
According to details, Zahoor Ali and Nadeem, both from the same village, met at a petrol pump in Adda Botti Pal. During the conversation, Nadeem lured Zahoor Ali with the promise of arranging his marriage.
On the pretext of showing him a proposal, he called him over and took him to a house where he introduced him to a girl and her brother. The girl said she wanted to talk in private. When the two went into a room to talk, the girl started taking off her clothes, to which Zahoor objected.
Meanwhile, Nadeem, Muhammad Yar, and Asar Abbas alias Nanhey Shah made a nude video of the girl and accused him of adultery. They took Rs100,000 cash from Zahoor’s pocket and demanded another Rs2.4m. They threatened if he did not pay, they would kidnap him and only release him after receiving ransom.
Zahoor paid them Rs2.4m in installments at different times, with the final payment made on April 29, 2025. During this time, the suspects took Zahoor Ali to the district courts, had a partnership deed written by a stamp vendor of his ancestral agricultural land and forced him to sign it.
When Zahoor went to the police to register a case, Bahadur Shah Police Station refused to file it. He then submitted an application to the IGP. On the IG’s orders, the Saddar Circle ASP ordered registration of a case.
