UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan has called for the removal of barriers that prevent equitable and non-discriminatory access to civil nuclear cooperation, describing it as a matter of fundamental importance.
Speaking during a UN General Assembly debate on the annual report of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) this week, Pakistan underscored its “vast experience in operating a safe, secure, and fully safeguarded nuclear power programme.”
Reaffirming its “capabilities and commitment” to nuclear safety, Islamabad stressed the need for “unrestricted collaboration and fair access to civil nuclear technologies, particularly for countries most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change.”
