SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Three members of a family sustained serious injuries when a dilapidated wall of their house collapsed in the Samar Bagh area of Wana in Lower South Waziristan on Saturday night.

According to local sources, the incident occurred while the family was asleep. The wall, weakened by recent rainfall, gave way, burying the three under the debris. Neighbours rushed to the scene after hearing the commotion and managed to rescue the injured from the rubble.

The injured were identified as Haroon Wazir, the owner of the house, and his two young daughters. All three were shifted to a private hospital.

Speaking to Dawn, Haroon Wazir said: “The wall had become fragile due to the recent rains. We were sleeping when it suddenly collapsed with a loud crash, burying us underneath.”
