LIE DETECTOR TEST: Polygraph, commonly known as the lie detector test, has been used for many decades to determine if the person being tested is telling the truth. I think such tests should be conducted regularly in Pakistan. All government employees should be tested every year to check if they are honest with their jobs. The same should be the case with all federal and provincial legislators to ensure they are not looting the country. Now, just imagine how much time as well as money will be saved with this simple and effective procedure.

PRIZE BOND CLAIMS: Claiming a prize bond is a hectic task in Karachi. Only one Know Your Customer (KYC) counter remains operational to deal with all the claimants. When I went there recently, almost a hundred people were already waiting ahead of me in the queue. Most of them happened to be senior citizens. With each transaction taking 3-4 minutes, one can imagine the hardship. But that is not all. As such, each claimant has to visit another counter for submitting the claim. The authorities concerned should take steps to resolve the matter.

DAUDPOTA LIBRARY: Daudpota Library in Hyderabad serves as a local hub of knowledge and learning. However, it faces several problems, including frequent power shutdowns, lack of fans and chairs, and infrastructural issues. The authorities concerned should address the issue on an urgent basis.

UNBEARABLE PUNISHMENT: Temperatures in Hyderabad recently touched the 45°C mark. In such extreme weather conditions, it was criminal of the relevant authorities to subject the consumers to frequent and lengthy power shutdowns. This level of power disruption is nothing but an unbearable punishment. But why? The authorities should take immediate action to address the issue.
