IPR awareness seminar

An awareness and training seminar was conducted by the Directorate of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Enforcement (South) in collaboration with Brand Protection (Pvt) Limited earlier this month, as per a press release. Mona Mehfooz, Director IPR Enforcement (South), presented, throwing light on the legal provisions that provide jurisdiction and functions of Pakistan Customs in IPR enforcement. She also shared major cases of IPR violations detected by the branch.

FBL doubles operating profit

Faysal Bank Limited (FBL), in its inaugural year as an Islamic bank, has doubled its operating profit to Rs42.3bn, as per a press release. FBL also reached the key milestone of the Rs1tr mark in deposits. FBL’s profit before tax was Rs41.4bn, 85pc higher than last year. FBL’s net profit reached Rs20bn, with an impressive growth of around 80pc. Earnings per share have shown an increase from Rs7.40 to Rs13.21.

BOP signs MOU to promote arts

Last week, the Bank of Punjab (BOP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lahore Biennale Foundation (LBF) to promote arts, literature, and crafts, as per a press release. The partnership indicates BOP’s long-standing dedication to various initiatives and programmes, including literary festivals and promoting culture and heritage preservation.

10Pearls’ expansion

10Pearls announced the launch of 10Pearls Studio, an expansion of its digital and creative capabilities, as per a press release. The studio brings together existing digital capabilities and past digital marketing acquisitions, such as Likeable, a social media agency based in New York City, and Pixel506, a digital services agency based in Costa Rica.
