Funeral prayers of a policeman being offered in Samarbagh on Friday. — Dawn

LOWER DIR: Four police personnel martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan, the other day were laid to rest in their native villages here on Friday, official sources and residents said.

The martyred personnel belonged to different villages of Lower Dir. Sub-inspector Sultan Yousaf was laid to rest in Kambat Samarbagh, head constable Sabir Khan in Amlok Dara Talash, constable Ali Mohammad in Badwan and constable Israr Mohammad was laid to rest in Bandagai Talash with official honours. A large number of local residents attended the funeral prayers.

The residents meanwhile demanded of the government to arrest the killers of the policemen and provide security to its guarding forces across the country.
