QUETTA: Counter-terrorism officials killed two militants belonging to the banned Baloch Liberation Army in an exchange of fire in the Hazar Gangi area.

A CTD spokesman in a statement on Friday said that an intelligence-based operation was conducted in the Shalkot Hazar Ganji area against the banned BLA and a plot of terrorism was foiled by killing two militants and recovering arms, ammunition.

The spokesman said the CTD received information that two armed militants of BLA had been tasked with carrying out terrorist activity against sensitive installations in Quetta.

The militants left Qaboee camp on a motorcycle.

During the course of action, the two motorcyclists were signalled to stop, but they opened indiscriminate fire on the Counter-Terrorism Department team.

The CTD officials returned fire, killing both the terrorists.
