GUJRAT: Police on Saturday raided the office of a housing society owned by Farhat Shahzadi, a close friend of PTI chief Imran Khan’s spouse Bushra Bibi, and her husband Ahsan Jameel Gujjar in Gujranwala, detaining at least 15 society staffers.

The couple has already been in the news in connection with alleged financial irregularities, illegal land deals and other cases of corruption during the last PTI government and is now residing abroad.

Police sources say the arrests had been made in connection with investigation into some alleged illegalities into the society’s affairs.

According to Jang media group website, a case has been registered against Ms Farhat, her husband and others on the complaint of Gujranwala Development Authority’s deputy director enforcement for violation of approved map of the society.

It is also learnt that the raid was conducted after the authorities received several complaints against the housing society management.
