LOWER DIR: The Insaf Teachers Association (ITA), a teachers’ wing of PTI, here on Tuesday demanded the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to announce the same facilities and perks and privileges for its public sector schoolteachers as given to their counterparts in Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab.

In a statement, ITA district president Tahir Altaf Sarhadi said it was because of the teachers’ hard work that the KP government had been claiming that it was providing quality education to students.

He said the teachers of this province should be provided with the same promotion policy, allowances and other privileges as granted in other three provinces.

Mr Sarhadi said ITA would have to organise the teachers for a protest campaign if the government delayed the matter.

CONFERENCE: The Center for Computational Materials, University of Malakand (UoM), in collaboration with Gomal University, DI Khan, will hold the first international conference and the 4th international workshop on “Materials Modulation and Simulation” with the support of Higher Education Commission on Oct 24, according to a statement issued here on Tuesday.

It said the event would be organised from Oct 24 to 26 in which national and international researchers would participate. UoM vice-chancellor Prof Rashid Ahmed would be the patron of this conference and Gomal University VC Prof Dr Iftikhar Ahmed its co-patron.
