LOWER DIR: A married woman on Friday committed suicide in Bandai Shah area of Samarbagh, residents and the police said.

They said the body was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Samarbagh. Later, it was handed over to family. Reason behind the incident could not be known.

The Samarbagh police registered a case and started further investigations into the incident.

Meanwhile, owners of four petrol pumps were fined for tampering with gauge in Talash.

The action was taken by additional assistant commissioner, revenue, Tariq Khan.

Also, a bakery was sealed in Khall Bazaar for selling substandard items and not maintaining hygiene.

Biodegradable shopping bags to be used for disposing of offal were also distributed among the citizens in Lal Qila Maidan, Timergara and Balambat.

The citizens were asked to extend cooperation to the administration in disposal of animal waste during Eid days.
