GILGIT: Pakistan Peoples Party, Gilgit-Baltistan chapter on Monday established a camp on the Islamabad Expressway to receive the participants of the long march led by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

The reception camp has been set up near the Iqbal Town.

According to a press release, hundreds of party workers from GB led by regional president Amjad Hussain Advocate, who is also the opposition leader in the GB Assembly, participated in the camp.

The workers displayed banners and party flags at the reception camp, and chanted slogans against the government.

The participants of the long march are scheduled to arrive in Islamabad on Tuesday (today).

The camp participants said hundreds of party workers and leaders, including GB Assembly members Eng Mohammad Ismail, Sadia Danish, Shehzad Agha, PPP general secretary Aftab Haider and Jamil Ahmed, had reached Islamabad to participate in the long march.

It is for the first time that a large rally led by PPP GB president Amjad Hussain has reached Islamabad from Gilgit-Baltistan after travelling for three days.
